A good birthday cake is about more than the decoration. It should feed everyone, taste like something people ask for a second slice of, and arrive in one piece. Here is how to plan one in Machakos without the last-minute panic.
Start with the headcount, not the design
The number of guests decides the size, and the size decides almost everything else: the price, how far ahead you need to order and how it travels. Count the people who will actually eat cake, then add a few. Our cake sizes and servings guide turns that number into a size.
Pick a flavour people will finish
Vanilla and chocolate are popular for a reason: they suit mixed crowds of children and adults. Red velvet, lemon and carrot cake are good choices for adult birthdays. If you can't decide, a two-tier cake can carry two flavours.
Bring a picture, but be flexible
Reference photos help, and we're happy to work from them. Some designs online rely on materials that don't hold up in warm weather or on long drives, so we'll suggest an adaptation that looks right and tastes better.
Give yourself time
Simple cakes can often be done at short notice, while detailed or tiered cakes need more time. Order as soon as you know the date. [PLACEHOLDER: confirm lead times]
